Worth It
© 2015 Jeff Jackson
You came home from the worst day
Collapsed into my arms
Hadn't seen you cry in such a while
I put on music and did my silly dance
Sacrificed my shame and pride
But it was worth it to see you smile
I saw you looking at that blue dress
With little straps and rick rack lines
But our bills were stacked up in a pile
I gave up buying coffee and bought that dress for you
You'd be mad at me for spending so much
But it was worth it to see you smile
It’s not love unless there is surrender
I’d gladly give it all to be with you.
Now we're getting on up there
We've had ourselves a good run
But the angels are walking up the aisle
You're here with me as I breathe my final sigh
Smile between those tears & remember
It was worth it to see you smile
It was worth it to see you smile
