When You Can't Love You

I see you curled up
in a ball in your bed
Buried treasure with
sheets on your head
You didn’t sleep at all
you wish you were dead
God put me here
to cheer you instead
Seems your world is
imploding on you
Got you questioning
what’s good and what’s true
Look at yourself and
your image turns blue
Let me give you
new eyes to look through
When you can’t love you
Let me love you
When you can’t love you
Let me love...let me love you
I miss you,
though I know you’re still here.
You can push
But I’ll only come near.
You ask for love,
You still can’t quite hear you’re engulfed in it, baby,
Like a bubble in beer
Your mind is worried
that I’ll get tired and leave.
It’s like a prayer
for the things you don’t need.
My feet are planted
like hickory trees
You are mine
to the billionth degree.
You deserve every flower.
You deserve every tree.
You deserve to be
loved by someone
Just so happens that one is me.
