Teresa, Teresa

Every corner I turn,

you’re standing there

Every time I close

my eyes for prayer

Every drop of a thought

I can’t seem to release

Your love for me

appears to increase

Teresa

Teresa, Teresa

Butterfly with tattered wings

I’m hearing the melody

your heart sings

In the midst of the tempest

A longstanding peace

You examine a famine

And set out a feast

Teresa

Take both my hands,

let’s dance for a while

Fill the whole room

with your gentle smile

Then sit with the pain and

Let ourselves feel

It’s the only way

We can honestly heal

Teresa, Teresa

Leading this old horse

to the water

A deluge of mercy

for all sons and daughters

Hand on the valve,

poised to release

A salve to my wounds,

A balm to my grief

O, Teresa

Teresa, Teresa

Why do you reach out for me through the centuries?

Rooms within mansions

your masterpiece

A soul-piercing lightness

We can’t quite believe

A God-given insight

we’re aching to receive

Teresa

Oh, Teresa

Oh Teresa
