I heard some rumors ‘bout Minerva
How she was wild and aloof
She sauntered up to my front stoop
Wanting to show some proof
Prefer to talk about Minerva
While she’s conveniently gone
I glance outside and there she is
She’s dancing on my front lawn
Minerva’s curious
Minerva comes in close
Makes me furious
My heart is bread for toast
Hold my opinion ‘bout Minerva
At least for a few more days
I watched her closely to suit my taste
And felt my eyebrows raise
What’s not to like about Minerva?
She’s feeding me with joy
She’s bringing gifts almost every day
Although her eyes seem so coy
Minerva’s curious
Minerva takes my hand
Makes me nervous
My heart’s a one-man band
Don’t try to tame her
She’ll only roll her eyes
Sometimes the ones we don’t expect
Turn out to be most wise
Minerva’s curious
Minerva has come home
Makes me nervous
My heart’s a slide trombone
Minerva’s curious
Minerva smiles so sweet
Makes me nervous
What next she’ll do with me.
