Hold on baby 

it’s the day after Halloween 

And all of a sudden, the shopping aisles are turning green  

There’s holly and bows and 

I’m not trying to be mean

But how come everybody’s decorating their Christmas trees?

Before you deck the halls or

Something you might regret

If you start Christmas early, 

you’re cutting into Santa’s prep

Pump those brakes

Cause it ain’t Christmas yet

There’s only 12 days of Christmas 

Like there’s 40 days of Lent

Don’t get in a hurry cause 

There’s 4 weeks of Advent

Something special’s coming

So it’s OK to wait a bit

Just slow down, sweetie

Cause it ain’t Christmas yet

Take some time baby to gaze at the Advent lights

December 24 is a 

special kind of night

Don’t get angry 

I’m not trying to start a fight

When baby Jesus gets here everything will be all right.

Time is flying, baby, don’t know where the days have gone

I’m running out of time to place my order from Amazon

You’ll be sick of 

singing Christmas songs

You’ll be brushing off needles 

onto the yule log

All your fruitcake’s 

turning into rocks

All your stockings 

are looking like dirty socks
