Is That What You Think?

You’re an eyesore and a loser

Damn good self-abuser

Cause all you feel is doubt and hate and pain

You’re an outcast and a sinner

An ugly pageant winner voted

Most likely to get caught in the rain

You never catch a break cause everything’s already broken

You live behind a mask and hooded cowl

You think you have no value

Think there’s nothing in you

That’s never not been soiled or dank or foul

Is that what you think?

Is that what you think?

You look into a mirror

The image isn’t clearer

The glass is painted thick with Vaseline

Your shape is somewhat blurry

With hatred, fear, and fury

A time bomb ticking soaked in gasoline

There might have been a diamond

Buried deep within the mine and

Mountain of your faults, mistakes, and bad ideas

Where there’s no light or candle

Only darkness, grief, and scandal

It’s too far in, no one will ever see

Is that what you think?

Is that what you think?

Peeling back that onion

Which doesn’t feel much fun and

You can’t count all the layers you’ve unrolled

Every time you think you’ve drilled down to the core,

there’s more you’ve still found

Perhaps that diamond’s long turned into coal

But I can see right through you

I’ve seen the only true you

that peeks its head outside that darkened hole

You’re full of gifts and treasures

A world of lovely pleasures

A sparkling gem of goodness in your soul

That’s what I think

Yes, that’s what I think

I don’t care what you think

Cause that’s what I think
